Art business in 2017

Is Digital is the new Physical

It is no secret that the art world has been going through some major changes for the past few years. With the creation of better and faster, more personal technologies artist are able to
break free from the shackles of the traditional hierarchy that has always ruled the industry.
Gone are the days where a small group of people decided what would and wouldn't be art. Information is too available now. Everyone has an art gallery at their fingertips. And every artist now has the power of self-representation and entrepreneurship.
Don't have a gallery? Find your audience on social media.
Don't have money for art supplies? Create it with your phone, I-pad, and through videos and such.
Don't have a physical store front? Create a website, sell with PayPal, or sell on a variety of other art sites for free to start.

Here is a Salon talk from Art Basel Miami 2016 that talks about the rise of technologies in the art market.
Just some food for thought.

Stay living creative,
-Derek
